Intro: Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis is a master piece. A must read book for CAT, GMAT, SSC, TOEFL, GRE etc. exam. 

Authored by Norman Lewis, the grammarian from New York who has several other English language books to his credit, 'Word Power Made Easy' has been published by Goyal Publishers and became popular soon after the first edition was released in the year 2009.

Pros: 

1.The best book to learn and speak English that is used world wide.

2. The author uses etymological method for learning words quickly and permanently .

3. For CAT exam,  one should have vocabulary of  minimum 5000 words. This book helps a lot.

4. For GATE exam, generally we get 15 marks out of 100 in aptitude and English section and this year 20219-20 General cut-off was 21 marks . So if you score 15 and at least 30 marks in technical section then you are eligible for IIT or any PSU organisation.

5. Not only does this book teach you words, it also teaches you how to learn anything effectively

Cons: 

1.This book is not written in regional languages like Hindi, Bengali, Tamil etc.

2. The book is very small is size. Paper quality is very bad.

3. Many clones of this book are available in market.

#Learning method: 

You won't get list of words in this book to improve your vocabulary overnight. It has various chapters, each teaching you new set of root words and there various combination leading to new words. As author says " Don't just read this book , Instead work with it!!! " After reading the whole book you will surely feel the improvement.

If you spend time every day (I would recommend 2 sessions) you will succeed in learning many new words. Norman covers many different topics such as: Personality types, proffesions, etc. Norman uses the words, you've previously comprehended, later in the book. This solidfies the words in your mind; it always brought a smile. Love this book and would highly recommend to anyone interested in increasing their vocabulary.
